Started the day with hot water and a slice of lemon

For breakfast, I had the “Detox Special”
|3 apples, 1 carrot, 1 in. lemon, 1/4 yellow bell pepper, 1 in. cucumber, 1/4 stalk celery, 1 in. broccoli, 1 in. red beet, 1 avocado
It tasted good, and I was feeling great and healthy that morning! Energized and totally normal. I went to the mall and was fine.
For lunch, it was time for the Detox Special again

I went upstairs afterward to read and catch up on what I missed on the Big Brother live feeds. Then the tiredness kicked in. I never take naps — I get enough sleep each night that they’re not necessary — and napping makes me feel lazy. Plus, I hate the waking up process (I’m NOT a morning person), and I don’t want to make myself deal with the waking up process twice in a day! But I was so tired that I ended up taking an hour nap. I woke up annoyed that I was so tired, and blamed it on only having seven hours of sleep the night before (I generally need nine to feel fully awake during the day.) Not wanting to be in my bed any more, I went downstairs to make the “linner” drink.

I drank this and it was quite good — I’ll continue making these. Soon after, I was getting cranky and went upstairs to read so I wouldn’t focus on how much I wanted solid food. I opened the book, and then I fell asleep while reading. I NEVER fall asleep reading. Reading is my all time favorite activity. I woke up an hour and a half later, tired and cranky. The first thing I thought was: “If I feel this way on Monday and Tuesday, there’s no way I’ll be able to be alert enough to focus on writing.” And that would be unacceptable.
It was 6:00 PM, and I felt tired, cranky, hungry, and unfocused. This cleanse was supposed to make me feel great, but I felt the opposite. I concluded that something making me feel that awful couldn’t be good for me, so I had solid, hot food for dinner. I tried it for one whole day and hated it. I was STARVING! I didn't notice an increase in energy at all, and it didn't seem worth continuing on.

You should chew all of your liquids and drink all of your solid foods. It is not Zen Buddhism. It has to do with the saying to chew your food 40 times. You do not swallow the liquid right away but let it mix with saliva. Then you keep chewing any solid food until it becomes like a liquid.
Food companies have one goal and that is to make money. So they prefer you to weigh 700 pounds and eat huge amounts of food daily. An elephant eats 330 pounds of food on a bad day. On a good day they eat 375 pounds of food. Also sick people make money for doctors. Well people do not make money for doctors.

As far as scientifically supported evidence, why is health important? One big reason is so you can live longer. That is why they measure the average lifespan of people in every country. A woman from Japan said that Americans eat about 5 times the amount of food that they eat. The Japanese are the longest living people.
They have done lots of studies to see what would extend life and enable people to live longer. After lots of studies, they found only one thing that can extend life. They did the study with rats to make sure they have total control of it. The one that extended life was eating less.

This is all interesting, but I am not the average American in what I eat (I eat a very healthy diet and do not overeat). I eat many whole fruits and veggies and lots of lean meat. I made a personal decision to not continue with the cleanse because it was making me feel sick and unable to focus on my work. I'm not judging anyone by what they do, just doing what feels right for my body.

Day 1 I failed and ate – had a salad in a pumpernickel wrap. Like you, I was ready start gnawing on my shirt and couldn't concentrate on anything but my hunger and food by around 6PM that evening. Either way, even if you eat once a day (and it be a reasonable, healthy meal) I feel the all day juicing otherwise still has positive effects. 🙂
