Waiting on Wednesday: Incarnate by Jodi Meadows

“Waiting On” Wednesday is a weekly event, hosted at Breaking the Spine, that spotlights upcoming releases we’re eagerly anticipating.
This week’s pre-publication “can’t-wait-to-read” selection is:
Incarnate by Jodi Meadows

Release Date: January 31, 2012
Goodreads Description: NEWSOUL
Ana is new. For thousands of years in Range, a million souls have been reincarnated over and over, keeping their memories and experiences from previous lifetimes. When Ana was born, another soul vanished, and no one knows why.

NOSOUL
Even Ana’s own mother thinks she’s a nosoul, an omen of worse things to come, and has kept her away from society. To escape her seclusion and learn whether she’ll be reincarnated, Ana travels to the city of Heart, but its citizens are suspicious and afraid of what her presence means. When dragons and sylph attack the city, is Ana to blame?

HEART
Sam believes Ana’s new soul is good and worthwhile. When he stands up for her, their relationship blooms. But can he love someone who may live only once, and will Ana’s enemies—human and creature alike—let them be together? Ana needs to uncover the mistake that gave her someone else’s life, but will her quest threaten the peace of Heart and destroy the promise of reincarnation for all?

Jodi Meadows expertly weaves soul-deep romance, fantasy, and danger into an extraordinary tale of new life.

First of all, let’s talk about the cover. How absolutely breathtaking is it?! I love the colors, and the mask (obviously, since I do love masks 😉
But what really makes me intrigued by this book is the description. It sounds like Jodi Meadows has created a fantastic new mythology, and I can’t wait to learn about it. It also sounds like this book is going to have lots of adventure and romance — both things I love.
I can’t wait to read Incarnate! Counting down the days 🙂

  1. YES, YES, YES. I did a cover review for this awhile back because I could NOT STOP gushing about it. The butterfly mask, the breath-stealing covers, geez, I want my hands on this book so, so bad. And yes, the reincarnation aspect KILLS. I can't wait to see where she takes it!
