Pink and Gold Nail Art

Hi girls! It’s been a while since I’ve blogged about nail art (over a year!) but I just did a fun design and wanted to share it with you. It was sort of inspired by the pink theme on the cover for The Secret Diamond Sisters, and as long as you have the right tools, it’s super easy to do.

Here’s how you do it:

1) Apply a base coat.
2) Apply two coats of Essie’s Good as Gold (or another metallic gold) to the ring and middle nails.
3) Apply two coats of Essie’s Madison Ave (or another pink) to your thumb, index, and pinky nails.
4) WAIT TO DRY. Really. You want it to be totally dry, or you might mess them up during the next steps.
5) Apply two Chevron nail art design stickers to each middle nail. (They should be where the gold is on the middle nail, as they’re going on the part that won’t be painted.) Put the sticker your skin first, to make sure it’s not SO sticky that it takes off nail polish. Once it’s on the nail, press it down so it’s secure.
6) Paint two coats of Essie’s Madison Ave on the middle nail. Make sure to fill all the spaces between the Chevron stickers.
7) Wait a few seconds, and remove the Chevron stickers. (Don’t wait too long after painting, or the sticker will remove the polish around it, too.)
8) Paint Julep’s Oscar (or another fine gold sparkle) on the ring nail, until it looks covered in sparkles.
9) Paint Sephora by OPI’s Only Gold For Me (or another chunky gold sparkle) on the thumb, index, and pinky nails. Make sure to place the chunks of gold where you want them.
10) Apply a top coat, and you’re done!
